Upgrade to Office 2016 Preview

If you’re an Office 365 subscriber, you’re running the current and stable version of Office 2013. If you want to start testing out the new features in Office 2016 Preview, it really only takes a few clicks and a short amount of time. First, head to your Office 365 account page and log in. Then click Language and install options.

On the next page select Additional install options.

Now you’ll be able to select either the 32 or 64-bit version of Office 2016 to install.

A quick file will download, launch it, and wait until the new preview version of Office is installed.

Here is an example of what you’ll see on the desktop while the new Office preview is being installed.

That’s all there is to it. Once the new preview suite has been installed, you can start checking out the new features. I installed it on the latest version of the Windows 10.

Windows Preview Software Considerations

Do note that installing Office 2016 on one PC or device, does not upgrade any other devices to it. So if you want it on other PCs or tablets, you’ll need to go through the install process on each of them. Another important thing to know is you need to be running Windows 7 or higher, and you cannot install 2013 side-by-side with 2016. When you upgrade via Office 365, it uninstalls 2013 first, and you’re only left with 2016. Have you been testing the Office 2016 yet? Whether it’s on Windows 7, Windows 8.1, or a preview version of Windows 10, let us know how things are going in the comments below!
